Capes For Real-Life Superheroes
We found that we could do even more with love, and set out to create something that gives support to those that are fighting in our local hospitals. Our organization has created and handed out more than 600 handmade superhero capes to the real-life superheroes fighting at The Children’s Hospital and VA Hospital in Aurora, Colorado.
When the world stood still in 2020, we knew we needed to figure out a way to continue supporting those fighting in beds away from their homes. So, our capes shifted from ones you can wear to paper-style ones that could be hung anywhere.
Today, we continue creating capes for those in our community. We have added in a version for families dealing with Domestic Violence in honor of a true-life superhero named Ty. We stand with his amazing mom, Jing, to continue to tell his story and honor his life. Their story reminds us that love knows no end and fights forever. Our cape creation is now part of the therapeutic services that we provide in that we believe in the power of creating something out of love for another whom is also fighting their own battle. If you are interested in creating capes, please reach out and let us know.
